What is Oral Fluid
Testing?

Oral fluid (saliva) testing is a fast, reliable, and non-invasive way to detect the recent use of drugs and certain prescription medications. It is commonly used by workplaces and law enforcement agencies to identify on-the-job impairment or recent substance use. Because samples are collected under direct observation, oral fluid testing reduces the risk of tampering or substitution, making it one of the most trusted forms of workplace drug screening.

Benefits of Oral Fluid Testing

A small saliva sample is collected using a certified collection device and then analysed either on-site or in a NATA-accredited laboratory. The process is quick, hygienic, and suitable for both individuals and large workplaces. Our testing screens for a wide range of commonly used substances, including amphetamines, methamphetamines, cannabis (THC), cocaine, opiates such as heroin and codeine, benzodiazepines, and MDMA. All non-negative results are sent for laboratory confirmation testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian Standards. This process provides reliable, defensible results that employers can trust when making important safety or compliance decisions.
